does the trading post and restaurant have the same #? tried calling about the restaurant and no-one answers?
The food wasn't awful but it wasn't terrific. Typical coffee shop diner type food that was still better than fast food. Excellent service and considering that the place was in the boonies sticks pricing wasn't terrible. Next time we will definitely try dessert.
MoreMeatloaf and potatoes are made from scratch and delicious. Very friendly service. Great convenience store. Western style jewelry shop carries unique torquise pieces. Also, their native crafts are beautiful.
MoreThe best place in Wikieup to stop. You can enjoy your stop by finding a market, snacks and drinks, fantastic restaurant, two shops for gifts and souvenirs, the cheapest price on gasoline, clean restrooms plus a motel for people road weary. An oasis in the desert!! You should stop in to see for yourself. Real nice people!! I give it an A+
MoreThis was an adorable place to pick up souvenirs for Fairly inexpensive. Staff was super friendly. The wait time for the public restrooms was a long time. All in all I'd definitely give the five stars.
MoreWhat a great little place to stop! Browse the trinkets while getting in a stretch! Got some souvenirs for the family, a set of grow your own desert plants! The even have Joshua tree seeds. Too cool.
MoreI drive by here a couple times a year and always plan my meal stop here. Interesting place with a store and native jewelry, nice selection. This trip included a breakfast burro, really good!
MoreSmall Town tourist stop. Friendly staff, reasonable prices considering distances. Men's toilets we're clean. Half way between Phoenix and Vegas. Good place for a rest stop.
MoreThe gas station staff was amazing but when my family went to go look at souvenirs the owner of the gift shop was on her personal phone talking to somebody. We had picked a few thing up we wanted and she told us to put it down and to leave her store. She said she didn’t have time for us and we were not her kind of costumer would not suggest her gift shop.
MoreThe female employees are very nice and friendly. The male manager, on the other hand, is afraid of his own shadow. Was too afraid to let me free camp behind the dead building next door because "there might be problems." Yeah, I'll invite all my cycling friends down to party with cause I miss them. Give me a break. Clearly doesn't understand what bike touring is or what it's about. The Shell station and Chevron were both very nice to me about it.
MoreGreat gifts and really friendly staff.
I always stop here on my way up North. Large selection of CAR FOOD and drinks. They also have a little restaurant. Nice break from the long ride.
MoreBeen a lot of places always get a burger... This is in the top 3 across the states ive been through. Delicious. Great people. Nice atmosphere.
MoreThis is easily the coolest stop I have made in a long time. Convenience store side is well stocked to keep you going on your journey and the restaurant is like a time machine to the golden age of road travel. We enjoyed our food and the time we spent here.
MoreNice pitstop for a bathroom break. Food and environment looked good too.
$$... It's ok... But nothing out of this world... The help... Don't know how to help..Food is ok.. but very slowly get your food out.. they need a time in and time out for your order..Five of us and three of the orders were wrong.. The person taking our order blaming the cook.. three times... Sure..I will try again .. just not to soon
MoreGood food but the price is too high. Service was OK. Nice store but also high prices as all in the area are. They get us because we're traveling I guess. Gas was a lot cheaper than the Chevron across the street. Didn't stay in the motel so I can't comment on that.
MoreIt's a great place to stop during travel. Plenty for the kids to see.
Nice small place with good food and good portions and good prices overall very happy with my meal I’ll be stopping here again for sure
MoreCool little place to stop . Not that there are very many options around for quite a long while but definitly a cool place there is a gas satation a small restruant and diffrent things to buy in the shop . They even sell small single serve dissposable shot glasses
MoreMost delightful little spot to fill up and take a bit to grab a bit to eat and get back on the road.
MoreI had their flat iron steak breakfast. Wow! Delicious! Best steak I've had in many years! Service was fast and friendly. Everyone was great! I will be back.
MoreQuick service in Restaurant area. Bathrooms available to all traveler's. Quick service in store area. Very sanitary.
MoreThis place is awesome! I really can't thank these people enough! We came in just as they were closing their doors, but they kept the fryers on for us and served us weary travelers. A kindness of truly biblical proportions. May God bless these people profoundly! Thank you. By the way, the food is awesome! The hot sauce is legit, too, so be careful!
MoreWe got some sodas, jerky, and a crushed penny before heading off in to the desert. Wikieup before you go go! Very small town, even smaller motel. The cashier was super nice and directed me to where we could fill up our water jugs. My girlfriend also got postcards for her collection here. Super cool!
MoreCool place to stop during a road trip.
Always great service from people who genuinely make u feel welcome
Fun, different and educational pit stop. The trading post had information about the state and local area. Had several shops inside which includes a convenience store. There is also a restaurant however we did not visit the restaurant due to time restraints.
MoreConvenient and friendly, well stocked convenient store, gas, restaurant and clean public restrooms
MoreAmazing place, food, and people. The Wikieup Trading Post is a great and convenient stop between Phoenix and Vegas, the building itself and the atmosphere surrounding it is absolutely beautiful, but what truly makes it special are the employees and the staff. You will feel right at home as soon as you walk in the door after exploring the many interesting and unique things to see in and outside of the building, just make sure to check out the gift shop, which sells gorgeous jewelry, most impressively Turquoise of very high quality. We also stayed at the motel, the rooms are clean, spacious, homey, and comfortable with a porch outside so you can sit and enjoy the sights of the desert, or gaze at the many stars that are visible in this remote destination. I would highly recommend the Trading Post, it's a one of a kind stop!
MoreThe dude at the register, kinda heavy set with a hat, has very poor customer service skills. Is not polite and just stands there twiddling thumbs. I recommend going elsewhere for your convenience store needs.
MoreHad a brief stop. The Joshua trees looked nice.
Always pop into the gift shop on our way through and never leave empty handed. Possibly the best prices on turquoise jewelry Ive seen in AZ, CA and NM, even on the rez. I always ask for sales but they don't have them, she'll tell ya, they don't need them and she's right.
MoreGreat place to stop and a lot of great memories. Very clean and friendly staff.
Maybe new inexperienced owners. Stopped yesterday 10/5/19 for lunch with family. Got our orders wrong. Ordered 4 burgers for 4 people only 3 came out. 10 minutes later we got the last one. Burgers were extremely overcooked very dry and hard to chew and swallow. On the plus side fries were good and they didn’t charge for the late burger. Been coming here for years and the food and service was always pretty good. Very disappointed. Don’t know if I will ever go back. Hopefully they are new and will get there act together. Everyone there just didn’t seem interested in service.
MoreTook a ride out here and had lunch . It was what I expected and what I was looking for . Had a burger and fries and a pretty cowgirl waitress who was very nice . Reading some of these other reviews I don’t think people understand that this is a diner not a French restaurant. If your road tripping and want an authentic Americana meal to go along with your adventure this is a decent stop .
MoreGreat gift shop and nice people. The kids love it! Ronnie was super friendly and made our day. So glad we stopped in there!
MoreFood was good in there Restaurant. Restrooms are kept very clean. A lot of goods to look at..
MoreGood food in a fun atmosphere. Our servers were very pleasant.
Great stopping place to get refreshments or use the restroom.
Great place to stop and whet your whistle! Check out the rattlesnake skins up on the walls in the cafe... Very very cool!!! Staff is always pleasant and friendly!
MoreA really interesting place to visit. Has a small store, restrooms, fun entry way and a cafe. Gas prices have to be the highest in Arizona. Nice to have a stop in the middle of no where. Coffee is not bad either.
MoreThis was a quick stop, and there was lots of great nick nacks , and tasty snacks to be obtained here, but the restrooms were very unpleasant and unkept, which explains my rating of this establishment. Hopefully conditions will improve before I pass this way again.
MoreBest place to stop, rest, get some goodies, gas then hit the road again going either north or south.
MoreHas everything you need when on the go. Quick service and great food at the inside restaurant. Bathrooms also available for the emergency potty stop. Bathrooms are very clean also. Entire facility is clean sanitary.
MoreThe waitress was really nice. She told me that my boyfriend and i were cute!!
stopped at the restaurant on Monday 7/1/19 on the way to las vegasand had a very good experience. we had two people taking care of us; I didn't get the gentleman's name and my receipt has madeline c on it. they kept checking on us to make sure everything was okay. the food was very good and came to us fairly quickly.
MoreThe food matches the warmth and personalities of those who have nurtured it and the thousands that have passed through its doors for 40 years? It may be more. Everyone knows your name- even if you are in only once or twice a year. The food is fresh and hot- delectably delicious- made more so by the buzzing warm friendly environment. And don't bother to go to NY Paris Vegas or Phoenix for jewelry- hand designed pieces from famous native designers are guaranteed to take your breath away. 5 stars? You bet!!!
MoreI don't know about the Motel, but the trading post and restaurant are fine. They are very old school, a throwback to the 60s, but very clean with nice employees and decent prices. I was in the ladies room the other day when a young mother came in with her baby, and was shocked there was no diaper changing station. Again, this place is "quaint". Expect to see open faced hot roast beef sandwich with mashed potatoes on the restaurant menu, it's that kind of place.
MoreI've stopped here for gas like 100 times and never went inside, but I'm sure glad I did. I went in the diner and was transported back in time where the chicken soup tasted like Grandma had made it, and the shakes were hand made. The place was jammed packed full of jewelry and plenty of SW stuff to look at. I wish my father was still with us so I could take him here. He would love it! Take a minute to read the story, enjoy some SW 50's diner food and slow down a bit. You will be happy you did.
MoreFun place to stop. Very unique.
